Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Mission:To assist the Pastor, as Catholic Lay Persons, in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass, or to carry it to the sick of the parish. Membership: EHMC Memberships are open to adult parish members who are in full communion with the Catholic Church, sincerely believe in Christ’s Eucharistic presence as taught by the Church, and deeply appreciate the divine gift of this ministry. They must be physically able to stand without support and to hold the ciborium when distributing the host or the chalice when offering the cup.Communication: Members will be notified in advance by mail for the Sundays of one month for one service (5:00PM Sat, 8:00AM Sun, 10:00AM Sun). Depending on the number of ministers they will be assigned about every third month.UshersGroup Purpose: To help make parishioners and guests attending mass at St. Thomas feel welcome and comfortable, to collect the offertory, pass out church bulletins after mass, and to review the worship area after parishioners and guest have departed. We also assist in other duties as requested by the Pastor.Membership: We are open to all members of the parish.
