Faith Formation 2024-25

Parishes of St. Thomas the Apostle and Ss. Peter & Paul have a combined program. Unless otherwise stated, all classes are held at St. Thomas the Apostle in Corcoran. Classes begin on September 11, 2024, and will be held from 6:15-7:30pm. Please note: Due to limited space, you must be a registered member to enroll your child in this program.

• Age 4 - Grade 1: ​Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is used for our youngest students. Trained Catechists teach your child about the Mass and the Gospels using the Montessori method. Children learn how to set up an altar and learn about each part of the Mass and what they mean. Gospel readings will come to life as they are able to manipulate the figures in the scripture verses. Many lessons are based on a Parable or the Life of Jesus. Most of the materials in the Atrium have been hand-crafted by volunteers with much love.

• Grade 2: The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, supplemented by the Word of Life by the Augustine Institute, includes Reconciliation and Holy Communion.​

• Grades 3 - 5: Word of Life by the Augustine Institute. Word of Life is a comprehensive, multifaceted curriculum that calls children, parents, teachers, and catechists to conversion and transformation in Christ.

• Grades 6 - 8: Confirmation prep is normally done in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, but youth past this age who have not yet received this sacrament are more than welcome! ​

• Family

  • Join us each Wednesday for a free-will offering family dinner! Dinner will be served from 5:30-6pm in the St. Thomas Parish Center—all are welcome! Students must have at least one parent with them, and all meals must be eaten in the dining hall. 

  • ​Holy Hour and confession will be available each Wednesday night in the St. Thomas the Apostle church while the children will be in classes. All are welcome to visit with our Lord.
