OCIA: Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (formerly known as RCIA) is an instruction in the Catholic faith for adults who have received some Christian sacraments, are in a different Christian denomination, or are non-Christians seeking to enter the Catholic Church, as well as those who want to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of their Catholic faith. Classes meet every Tuesday evening at the St. Thomas Parish Center, room 12, at 6:30pm, beginning September 15, 2026, and continuing until right before Easter. Candidates for reception into the Catholic Church or those completing their initiation will receive their sacraments at the Easter Vigil. Faith is a journey towards union and intimacy with Christ throughout one’s life. There is no pressure/obligation to join the church - OCIA is also for those who are curious about Catholic beliefs. Read about OCIA via the USCCB.
The study will make use of Symbolon: The Catholic Faith Explained to provide a systematic presentation of the Catholic Faith. It will lead you through the "big picture" of the Catholic Faith, and the Creed is the guide. Symbolon brings together some of the world's most trusted Catholic teachers to guide you through the breadth and richness of the Catholic faith.
